Privacy Policy

How TubeThumbnail handles tool inputs, browser-based image processing, server requests, cookies, analytics, and advertising data.

Overview

Privacy by design

TubeThumbnail’s public tools remain available without an account. Visitors may optionally create a free account to save selected work and request limited AI creative feedback. The information processed depends on the tools and account features you choose.

Tool inputs

Information processed when you use a tool

  • Uploaded images: resizing, compression, preview, comparison, banner resizing, and technical analysis are designed to process uploaded files locally in your browser. The files are not intentionally uploaded to TubeThumbnail servers by those tools.
  • YouTube video links and IDs: these are processed to identify public thumbnail files and check which resolutions are available.
  • Research queries and channel identifiers: when you use research, profile-picture, or banner tools, the query is sent to TubeThumbnail’s server and then to the official YouTube Data API.
  • Technical request information: the hosting provider may process standard logs such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, response status, and time of access for security, reliability, and diagnostics. Short-lived IP-derived keys may be used in memory to limit abusive API traffic.
  • Account information: when you register, TubeThumbnail stores your normalized email address, a one-way password hash, verification state, account status, plan, session records, and relevant security timestamps. Plaintext passwords are never stored.
  • Saved work: an authenticated user may save structured analyzer measurements, research settings and video IDs, or comparison configuration. Uploaded image binaries are not stored with these records.
  • AI creative feedback: only when you explicitly request it, a resized copy of the selected thumbnail, optional title/context, and deterministic measurements are sent through TubeThumbnail’s server to the configured AI provider. AI feedback is subjective and is not a performance prediction.
Measurement

Analytics events

TubeThumbnail may measure privacy-limited events such as which tool was used, whether an operation succeeded, selected output format, and aggregate image properties. Analytics metadata is designed to exclude entered YouTube URLs, channel queries, image URLs, image files, titles, and other free-form user input.

Advertising

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

TubeThumbnail uses Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers to serve, measure, and personalize advertising based on a visitor’s activity on this and other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to TubeThumbnail and other sites. Visitors can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Information about Google’s data practices is available in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Your choices

Consent and privacy controls

Where required, TubeThumbnail uses a Google-certified consent management message to request and record advertising choices. Visitors in supported regions can accept, reject, or manage the purposes and vendors presented in that message.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some storage may affect advertising preferences or certain site features.

Service providers

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics: privacy-limited website usage and tool-event measurement.
  • Google AdSense: advertising delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and consent messaging.
  • YouTube and Google APIs: public thumbnail, video, channel, and channel-image information.
  • Hostinger: website hosting, networking, security, and operational logs.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: anti-bot checks on registration and sensitive email forms.
  • Titan Email: delivery of verification and password-reset messages.
  • OpenRouter: optional AI creative feedback when an authenticated user requests it.

External services operate under their own privacy policies. TubeThumbnail does not control the retention or processing performed independently by those providers.

Retention and security

Keeping data limited

Ordinary public-tool inputs are not added to an account automatically. Account and saved-work records remain until the user deletes them or the service must remove them for security or legal reasons. Unverified accounts are scheduled for deletion after a limited retention period. Verification and reset tokens expire, sessions expire or can be revoked, and expired operational rate-limit records are periodically removed.

Account deletion removes the account, credentials, sessions, saved analyses, saved comparisons, saved research, usage records, and associated AI feedback from the active database. Limited provider or security logs may remain for their normal operational or legal retention period. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Questions and requests

Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning access, deletion, correction, objection, or restriction of personal data. To ask a privacy question or make a request, email contact@tubethumbnail.com. Include enough information to understand the request, but do not send passwords or sensitive credentials.
